JoAnne Dodgson, Ed.D. is a healer, author and teacher of Ka Ta See, a unique Peruvian tradition of the Eastern Andes.
With a doctorate in counseling psychology and an eleven-year shamanic apprenticeship, JoAnne brings diverse knowledge and rich experience to her offerings of spiritual counseling, shamanic journeys, traditional energy healing, ceremonial gatherings and retreats.

Specializing in healing related to trauma, JoAnne offered individual and group therapy for several years in college counseling centers, community agencies, women’s centers, and private practice as a licensed psychologist. She served as director of a women’s shelter program, as an outreach educator and coordinator of social change projects on two university campuses. As a Hospice volunteer, she has provided support around the passage of death and dying with individuals and their caregivers.
Since 2000, JoAnne has been pursuing an extensive shamanic apprenticeship in Ka Ta See, an ancient sacred way of life from the Eastern Andes. While learning and living the Peruvian medicine ways, JoAnne Dodgson has received permission to share the teachings, give initiation ceremonies, offer traditional energy healings, and guide spirit journeys. JoAnne also offers community ceremony to vision and manifest, to connect with the natural cycles of life and the rhythms of the earth and moon.
JoAnne Dodgson writes medicine stories to inspire awakenings and heart-centered ways of living. Her self-published books include: Gifts of the Grandmother, UnLeashing Love, MoonDance Journal. She is currently preparing a medicine story for publication which celebrates cacao as an ancient sacred ceremonial food.
She teaches part-time in the master’s degree Counseling and Art Therapy Programs at Southwestern College in Santa Fe. She has also served on the faculty in Holistic Health at Western Michigan University and Women’s Studies at Oregon State University.
JoAnne Dodgson lives among the enchanted desert mesas near Santa Fe, New Mexico.
